Katherine Tanney's Carousel of Progress was named Best First Novel by the Texas Institute of Letters. She has written several essays about love, loss, and living with dogs for "Modern Love," in the New York Times, and her nonfiction also appears in Dirty Words: A Literary Encyclopedia of Sex. She writes the column, "Please Don't Feed The Writers" for the Austin American-Statesman and co-edited the anthology, Stricken: The 5,000 Stages of Grief. She lives in the music-rich city of Austin, Texas and recently tried songwriting. Her voice and lyrics can be heard on "New Hope," by SKRITCH.
